What is a Otoplasty?

A Otoplasty is a surgical procedure performed on the ear to correct the position of the protruding ears, due to the absence of the natural folds of cartilage. Otoplasty is used to help patients acquire a more cosmetically appealing ears and improve their self-image.

Dr. Cabrera uses Chongchet otoplasty technique. This technique produce a very natural result and low recurrence rate because malformed cartilage is reshaped without stitches. In other otoplasty techniques is necessary to provide permanent stitches and eventually those stitches can give problems to the patient such as extrusion or recurrence (when the stitches lose stress).
